Practical tips
Take care on the descent from the Santo Toribio cross to San Justo de la Vega. After Hospital de Órbigo, the right-hand route through villages is nicer than the path beside the N-120.
Along the way
Hospital de Órbigo
Its long medieval bridge was the scene of the 'Paso Honroso' in 1434, when the knight Suero de Quiñones challenged all comers to joust for a month to free himself from a vow of love.
