Monte do Gozo
The 'mountain of joy', where pilgrims once saw the cathedral towers for the first time. A monument recalls Pope John Paul II's visit in 1989.

Santiago de Compostela
The cathedral holds the tomb of Saint James. The Pórtico da Gloria by Master Mateo (1188) is a masterpiece of Romanesque art, and on special days eight 'tiraboleiros' swing the giant Botafumeiro. Collect your Compostela at the Pilgrim Office.
