10-Day Camino Itinerary for People with Limited Time
Ten days is enough for a genuinely satisfying Camino if you choose the right stretch, and this itinerary balances a full pilgrim experience with a realistic American or European holiday schedule.
Days 1-2: Arrival and the final 100 km of the Francés
Fly into Santiago or Madrid, then train or bus to Sarria to begin walking the classic final stretch of the Camino Francés, which alone qualifies you for the Compostela.
Days 3-8: Walk Sarria to Santiago
Roughly 100 km broken into daily stages of 15-20 km through Portomarín, Palas de Rei, Arzua and Pedrouzo, giving six comfortable walking days with time to enjoy meals and villages rather than rush.
Day 9: Arrival in Santiago
Collect your Compostela, attend the Pilgrim's Mass, and spend the afternoon exploring the old town and cathedral at a relaxed pace.
Day 10: Finisterre day trip or rest
Many walkers take a day trip to Cabo Finisterre, the dramatic "end of the world" coastline, as a symbolic final stop before flying home.
Alternative: all ten days on the Camino Inglés
If you'd rather avoid the busier Francés entirely, the full Inglés from Ferrol takes five to six days, leaving extra time in Santiago, A Coruña or a short Galician coastal trip.
